  • Xekong 4 Power Company Limited (“XK4”) founded on 12th December 2023, and incorporated in Lao People’s Democratic Republic having its registered office at No. 187, Unit 12, Kaisonphomvihan Road, Phonsaart Village, Saysettha District, Vientiane Capital
  • XK4 is a firm supporting the development of Xekong 4A and 4B Hydroelectric Power Project in Xekong province, Lao PDR. The shareholders are well-known listed companies in Thailand namely; RATCH Group PLC and B.Grimm Power PLC where International Renewable Energy Co., Ltd. is also good record shareholder. The overall electricity generated from the Project will export to Thailand.

Location and Access of Project Area

  • Xekong 4A and 4B HPPs are located in the Xekong River Basin
  • Xekong 4A is about 30 km on the upstream of the Xekong Town along Xekong river
  • Xekong 4B dam site is located in the head north to upstream about 50 km of the Xekong 4A dam site

Xekong Basin Development

  • Originates close to the border between Vietnam and Laos PDR then flows southwest through Xekong, Attapeu and Champasak provinces before joining Mekong River at Stung Treng, Cambodia (560 km)
  • Watershed Area of Xekong Basin = 28,816 km2 (78% of the area is in Laos PDR)

Shareholding structure and related shareholders

Power generation from both of Xekong 4A HPP and Xekong 4B HPP are totally 355 MW (Xekong 4A’s power generating capacity of 175 MW and Xekong 4B’s power generating capacity of 180 MW). The Developers considered to export 100% of power generation from the Projects to Thailand.

Corporate Social Responsibility in Laos

In 2024, Xekong 4 Power has donated some money to build the new primary school building with a donation of school equipment at Kaengkien village, Kaluem District, Xekong province.
